Chennai based, independent film maker is known for her documentaries, short and experimental films. Hindu Makkal Katchi has filed a complaint Leena Manimekalai for the poem posted in her blog. It is reported that the poem has depicted women in an obscene manner.
Hindu Makkal Katchi(HMK) is a Hindu political party in Tamil Nadu founded in the 1990s after the fued from Hindu Munnani. HMK has earlier also HMK opposed actresses like Mallika Sherawat and Shriya Saran fordressing in minimalcothes in public appearances.
Hindu Makkal Katchi has also opposed the views of actress Khusboo in several occasions and have filed the cases against them for misrepresenting Indian culture.
